Default need some advice

Ok i am in the market for a mustang. i have pretty much decided i want to get a 99-04 V6 mustang. (need to save on insurance money so no GT for me) but i was reading on here and i just need some clearification, is there a huge difference from a manual to auto performance wise? like if i were to get an auto and i got 4:10 gears and t-lok would i be about the same as a stock manual V6? i would rather have a manual i was just wondering though. thanks a lot.

NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOO............ Autos are horrible on accelleration, put it this way, a stock edge modle runs the same times as my car, which is 0-60 in roughly 9 seconds, manuals can easily hit 8s, and a decent driver can hit in the mid 7s, so stay away from the auto. Also, the insurence on a V6 and a V8 is exactly the same on liability, and is almost the same on regualar coverage, and in some cases the V8 is cheaper, and don't let the gas thing fool you, V6s and V8s generally get almost the same real world gas millage, and again, in some cases V8s get better millage because of the power to weight ratio thing. Just thought I'd que you in on these things.

Quit going to dealerships, they always try to overprice used GTs, buy from a person, there are tons on individuals selling their GTs for well under 10K and yes, that is the new edge models. Check out our for sales forum, they have a couple in there for sale.

Well you should still be able to talk them down off of anything more than 12K. I think 8-10K is very possible, but you will have to wheel n deal, because not many people are interested in the older stangs now that the new stangs have arrived and add in the fact that while the edge was the fastest stang ever, it still fell short on sales, so Ford may be ready to get rid of one, just make sure your buy it near the end of the month so that the salesman are squirming to hit their monthly quotas.
