Well the tune I had was for 91-93 octane...I have 91 in my tank. But yeah, it was quiet than even a cap gun. Hard to tell if it was from the engine the exhaust since I could hear the sound come out the exhust. But the engine also seemed to rock *slightly* or drop in rpms or something...so I think it had to do with the engine. Never had a vehicle ping on me so I'm not sure it that's all that was happening.

it stopped when you put the stock tune in, so get in touch with your tuner.

jthorn: backfire has NOTHING to do with mufflers...you can have ANY mufflers and they will not cause it.....your theory of backfiring is incorrect as well...redass is pretty much with what it means.

NewMex: if you changed the gas after you tuned it...then refill it like 2 times and then try the tune again. Just bc you filled it up doesn't mean its already in your injectors, pump, engine etc...let it cycle the GOOD gas again and try the tune again.

I've had premium in (about 85-90%) for a while now...filled up again last night. I re-loaded the tune just a while ago...lezeee what happens later when I go out on the town.

Yea it sounds like predetination, i had the same problem when i put my chip in. i had 1/4 tank of 87 and the tune requires 93 and it took a few days to go away because like what was said the previous gas is still in the lines and what not. Other than that how did your car respond to the tune? I love my chip.

It wasn't that great power wise...I did get much better thorttle response (there wasn't a "no action" area on the pedal) and the shifting is much quicker.

Well thanks for clearing that up Erick, but I did say I was unsure, I was just throwing it out there for debate. Now I know.

Drove it around...raced a corvette's tail-lights, and still backfires/misses...so guess I'll be sending it back in or something if it don't clear up within a day or two.
