I know this is probably a dumb question but I have been wondering for a while now. I have the diablo tuner and was just wondering what does the tuner change performance wise that makes you have to use premium fuel. I hear that you only gain maybe 8 hp from the tuner so what does it change for the use of premium fuel?

No question is a dumb question bro unless it is a quesiton like will a stock V6 beat a 99+ GT that would be a dumb question haha but no really we are all on this forum to learn a lil more about our cars and to have a lil fun writing about our races and what not..

It changes gas by allowing you to raise or advance your spark plug settings to allow maximum detonation with 93 octane, it also allows you to adjust your air to fuel mixture, which also requires premium, but you have to have the proper meters to really adjust both.

So if I don't do those two things do I need to run high octane fuel or no? And if I don't do those two things how much power am I actually getting out of the tuner?

you will probably get an 87 octane tune and a 91/93 octane tune...the 87 octane is mainly just for shift points, etc. - not so much more power.

I already have the tuner and I only see one tune on there. Well there are aparently two tunes but one of them is made for a supercharger/turbo set up and I dont' have that. And then there is the other one that I have on my car. And if you don't want to use any of the tunes it gives you the option to just set shift points, take the rev limits off and make it so there is no govenor.

It should have a Performance Tune (version r50d created by DiabloSport) and a Factory HP Tune option (which is a copy of your stock tune), either of which you can modify.
