about a month ago i had a blown head gasket......thats what the mechanic said.............well after not driving my car for about 3 weeks i finnaly started it up and to my suprise the car wasent running hot for like 30 mins then i took it for a test drive and and it still wasent getting hot the heater was blowing hot and everything was working right??? S o i dunno what to do now since the car seems to be fine i dont want to take it to the mechanic and spend 1200 dollars on a head gasket....any ideas on what you may think what happened?

Wow, to go from paying for a potential head gasket job to a thermostat has got to be a relief on the ol' wallet.

 

seems a mechanic would check the thermastat before saying you have a BHG.. i would re-think using that person if it is the thermo
