The guy doesnt seem that great. I need to get time to go to a shop. this so called good mechanic thought my CAI was a turbo.

Take it to a shop that does smog checks. They should have a gas cap tester. At least they all do here in Cali. That's part of our testing now.

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I had the same symptoms last year with my 2000 V-6. It was the O2 sensors. My car had just reached 74K and I was told by a co-worker that they tend to need replaci ng at 70K. I replaced the B1 and B2 sensors and all was well.
