damn, I would trade in my GT if I thought I could get an 06 for 20 grand. you gotta realize that not only will you get a better motor, you also get a newly engineered chasis and a nice warranty. the 05-06's drive very smooth for a live axle car.
actually the essex block is alot stronger, but the new engines respond better to mods, i dont really like the 05s so i would say turn the 6er into a GT killer. start with some 4.10s
so what you are saying is that you think the 3 valve 4.6L is not as good as the 99-04 3.8L v6? I beg to differ, BIG TIME.

Because I'm at a lost as to what to do Harv, do I invest more money in a slow *** car, or do I invest tons of money just to own a new car.

personally if the slow car had no payments and was still running strong, i would screw the 06 GT and just mod, because thats freedom, with payments, there is no flexibility.

why don't you buy a 99 or 00 gt? you cna get one for around 10k, slap a KB on that ****er and you can beat cobras. until they pulley swap. then you're ****ed.

how much money do you have and what do you want in a car? if you want 400rwhp, that one thing, but if you only want 300rwhp, that's another. you can get an old fox and throw 8k into it if you really want a serious *** kicker for a car.

i think that if you are talking about leaving the cars stock, the 4.6 owns, if we are talking about going F/I then the essex block is probably one of the strongest blocks built, especially split-ports cause some earlier ones have head gasket problems i thought weve had this conversation before?

well do you owe money on your car jermey? if not, screw the 06 and keep a car that you own and not the bank and you, drop in a 4.3 from supersix, stage 3s have 260 HP which are N/A and you can get a stage 4 with a supercharger that is 390, thats the same number as the cobras
