Righto. Same car as my earlier post, the 93 LX 2.3 convertible


There's something I find peculiar with my transmission. I have the 4 speed auto, but I can only feel 3 gears.

I set it into overdrive, and pull out, it shifts at about 15mph, then it shifts again at about 45 or so, then it stays in that gear. Even if I bring it up to 85, 90 miles an hour, I can't feel any shift into a 4th gear.

I asked the techs at the ford dealership and they claimed that it just shifts out of first very quickly. Does it actually shift into third gear at 15 mph?

Is there anything wrong with my car, or am I just an idjit?
