Diablo Tuning??
i got the diablo about 3 weeks ago and have their tune in w/ a few adjustments. I tried playing w/ the parameters and found the only ones that had a positive effect on performance and driveability were the idle rpm settings, and shift firmness. I set the rpm at 550 for both the neutral and drive. This is just above were it begins to get rough. This will use a little less gas at the lights, and u'll need less brake to keep your car from idling away (i think my original idle was messed up cause my car would idle at 15mph w/out gas imput). I also adjusted the shift firmness. For normal acceleration, i lowered the firmness all the way down, so now under normal driving, shifting is so smooth you hardly notice it. On Wide Open Throttle (WOT) shifting, i increased all the firmnesses. This gives more torque through the shift and allows for better accel w/ automatic trans. Not sure exactly on my setting, but I wouldn't go all the way cause im about 3/4 the way up and it puts alot of stress on the trans. Haven't tryed 100% firm, because i don't need to spend money that i don't have buyin a new trans.
I tryed playing w/ the air/fuel and timing, but each adjustment seemed to make the car sluggish. I suggest just the rpm, and shifting as the parameters to play with, unless you know what you are doing

Never, ever, ever tamper with the Air/Fuel mixture unless you have the proper devices. Now I have maximized my cars performance with mine, now remember, I have a 98, so if you have a 99-04, a couple of settings may be different. I raised my idle rpms to 1200 rpms, no difference in gas by the way, this will cause you to have to ride the break, but will help give you excellent off the line time. I upped my shift points to 4700rpms accross the board, because on WOT the car really doesn't shift untill about 5200rpms, which is where my optimal shift point is, if you have an edge, you should be at about this point or at 5500rpms maximum. The way you know if you have your shift points set right is when you hit the WOT, wide open throtle and shift does your car loose speed before the shift, signs you need to lower your shift point, or does it not quite seem to reach its maximum effeciency and fall out of the powerband, should shift back down to about 3000rpms, this is a sign you would need to raise your shift points. I raised my shift pressure to 30 across the board, for a medium shift, Harv (03yellowpony) did 40lbs, for a moderately firm shift, and I set my shift WOT at 120% which is dead in the middle for a mild shift, I beleive Harv set his at 80%. But to put things in short, you will just have to feel the car. Oh I also tinkered with my spark advance and I raised it to 5% advaced, and the dyno put that setting at my maximum HP, 4% lowered me about 1.5hp, and 6%, lowered me about 1hp, but remember, I am running 93 octane and have a fairly free flowing engine, I would highly reccommend letting a shop do this, but if you tinker with this setting, I wouldn't advace my spark more than 2.5% with 93 octane, and you'll just have to feel the car, but yet again, I highly reccommend letting a shop do this.
