if ur lookin for that much hp, save up some do basic bolts ons first llike a cai, exhaust, 4.10 gears w/ t-lok, UD pulleys.

once you have ur basic mods, then get a vortech made for the 3.8. that shoud get everything good.
why would you suggest getting a CAI and UD pullies when neither will work with a Vortech? he would be just wasting money and a vortech isn't the best choice since it will only put out about 260rwhp on a splitport

vortech centrifical supercharger and 4.10 gears with a auburn or detroit posi. are you an auto or 5 speed? if your an auto you will need a torque convertor and a shift kit or diablo hand held.
Voetech won't get him the power he wants without getting ported heads/intake/cam package plus it isn't intercooled and are very temp sensitive so a tune in the winter may be alittle to agressive in the summer and cause pinging

4.10's are too steep with a blower for good streetability. believe me i had them with the procharger and the *** end always wanted to break loose even on part throttle. it is too much gear for a blown car that see mostly street driving

You can use a crank out of a Ford f-150 truck. This will increase your engine to 4.2liters. Your stock displacement of 3.39" will grow to 3.74" offering you a total of 262 c.i. Put in an 8.8" rear axle w/Moser 31 spline axles &spool Along with 4.10 gears. Split port heads from a V-8.Mustang lower intake with the IMRC removed making it essentially a 12 runner intake, Ford Windstar upper intake which offers more intake volume. There is more on this in a past issue Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords October 2005 . Hope this helps!!!!
Wanna rethink that statement????????
TMA Turbo
Super Six Motorsports
ProCharger
Vortech
SOOOOOOOoooo..you're saying heads from a V8 will fit on a V6???? Like I said..you want to rethink that statement????

he never specified if he wanted 300 crank or 300RW. a vortech will get him to that 300 crank mark. besides, get a boost cooler for $400 and he'll be laying down even more than that intercooled procharger

with 7psi the vortech isn't going to surpass the 11psi procharger even with a Snow performance water/methanol injection

a friend of mine dyno'd 293rwhp with his vortech and snow setup on his 01 stock splitport.
he as 36lb injectors, lightning maf, focus pump. without the snow kit he dyno'd 254rwhp

i don't like the snow kit unless you have a flip chip with 2 different tunes. if you run out of water methanol mix your tune will be too agressive. these kits require tuning for the setup and another tune when you are not using it

which very respectable numbers the procharger 11 psi unit will dyno that much on average just by itself. add the snow kit to that and you are lookin at 330rwhp or more

i'm not knockin the vortech as it is an excellent unit but the lack of intercooler and having to drill and tap your cast aluminum pan to lube it with hot engine oil are reasons it lags behind the procharger.

i almost went with a vortech untill i saw a singleport only put down 187rwhp with one and tuned very good. my procharger without a tune put down 226rwhp. quite a difference

What you need is an HCI pkg, or port your own H&I and let me spec you a cam.
I originated the old 207 grind (sold thru rpm-mustangs.com) and now I have better
stuff by far, it was a power adder cam mainly but suitable for unported heads.

I did a 214/216 grind for a guy with the old 207 and (pre-tune and not dynoed)
he said it really kills the old 207 grind al lthe way around! I'm willing to share
porting specs, I been doin' this longer than any "shop" in the USA and I had
another bud of mine appear in MM&FF Feb '06 issue, SIX OFFENDER
he needs new heads and cam now, but I did all the engine work but assembly.
He's running the old 3.8 heads/cam on the new 4.3 which I didi here in Indy
and sent to LA for installation. It is emissions legal too. (or was until he yanked the EGR)

how you doing RGR? i haven't seen you on the boards lately. maybe you are still on V6power. Gaston gave me the ban from there cause him and I disagreed on a political issue. oh well. i miss that site sometimes

i hope all is doing good for ya. you are one of the pioneers of 3.8 power and it's good to see ya postin here. there are alot of guy's here that could benefit from your knowledge and products. i liked the article on Jose's 97 and am glad they included your work in it especially your short runner single port upper

all in all good to see ya here!

Why is it that they woulnt work. Is this just for vortech or all s/c's
