Well........
I'm my thinking I've decided to repair my 5.0 which has roughly $4000 worth of repairs/work/upgrade cost left. I was considering getting a new or new/used car though to use as a DD to keep the 5.0 off to the side as a project/show car.
Well today I went and test drove a new 07 Mustang V6. It was a dealer lease buy back. Oh, my dad with his company gets a great discount from this one dealership in town where I found the car. They wanted 18995 for the car before the discount. It has 17K on the clock, silver premium coverable with all black leather interior, looks nice. Well I'd have the say the new Sn-197 sure handle great in stock form. Now while my car can take turns harder than that thing could, it has supurb U-turn capabilities, needless to say I was impressed. The power.......
......considering what I already have, but great for being a stock sixer. I would have taken the car, but I'd rather have a $4000 bill than a 16-18K depending on the discount. Also, funny thing is, my 5.0 is 1/3 the insurance cost of the new sixer.
Just thought I'd share my experiance, but it looks like the 5.0 is going to remain my DD for a little while, hopfully the power boost it will get when I do my repairs won't hurt MPG too damn bad.

Well I was never going to get rid of Salena, but I'd really like to have an auto now that I'll be having to deal with New Orleans traffic, and more speciffically the one lane traffic on the twin span (the bridges that were badly damaged in Katrina) into the city in the morning as the second bridge out flows with two lanes. Damn manual is going to become tiring on that bridge. Also wanted something a little better on gas than a 350 rwhp V8 will be (or at least that's my guestimation on where I'll be at after the work is done). But yea, keeping my current car as my one and only bill is going to be the much cheaper route, but I'd have to say, I was impressed with the new V6. Damn thing even had decent throttle responce, even with the electronic throttle control.
Yea, really thought about a Civic, but there just aren't any half *** decent ones around here. I think I'm just gonna stick with the 5.0 for now. Now I'm debating on rather or not I want to do the heads with my work. Not doing the heads will save me a nice deal on cost, but sense they're right freeking there It's like, might as well, but damn old rockers on the GT-40s are shot, and I'd much rather upgrade to 1.7 but that alone carries it's extra cost, all these damn decisions are killing me, why can't this be easier..........errrr..........
Anyways, just wanted to share my experiance with an 07 sixer.

Well here's how I'm gonna attack things and if anybody has any "pricing" for install it would be very bennificial.
I would love to do the H/I work myself, but with my time extremely limited I'm gonna have to pay to have it done, even though I really don't want to, but working 40 hours a week, and school the other two days will make it next to impossible to accomplish in a reasonable time.
I'm borrowing $4000 (as not to touch my personal "emergency savings") and here's what I'm doing:
Timing cover gasket install, radiator install, along with timing chain to fix a sever radiator leak.
Gasket kit - $30 (already have it)
Radiator - $120 (already have it)
Timing Chain - $68
Chrome Harmonic Balancer - $60 (already have it)
Install - approx $500 (yea, it takes a while to get the cover off, already did the waterpump)
Install on T-5 transmission rebuild kit to hopefully fix the problem with the syncros in my tranny, hopefully it's not more severe than that
T-5 Rebuild kit - $250
Approx inststall - $500 (may be way off if any body knows let me know)
I have a bad rear brake caliper and I'd much rather upgrade everything than just replace with expensive stock parts
94-04 Cobra brake conversion kit - $986 after discount
Drilled and slotted 13" FRPP front rotors - $196
Drilled and slotted 11.5" FRPP rear rotors - $178 after discount
Install - approx $600 (may do myself around Christmas or maybe before, doesn't take as long to do as H/I)
Now these things will make my car run with no problem, but the other work needed to make the H/I work may need to wait a while as I'm still not 100% ready to go on those two as I still need to have the heads P/P as well as having the new 1.7 rockers installed, and I still need to sandblast my intake and have it painted chrome, although I may be able to do this myself.
