Cam?
ok i know my car is only a V6 but its true dual (x-pipe) and i'm looking into getting some new headers. i was talking to a friend and he said i should look into getting a camshaft. what i wanted to know is that because my car is a v6 would an aftermarket camshft be something for me to look into.
a cam on a stock engine will get maybe 20-25hp. port the heads and intakes and almost double the power like a 40HP gain maybe more.
you can get a nice lope to you car too but you will probably need steeper gears and a stall converter if you go with a bigger cam.
www.delkperformance.com and www.supersixmotorsports.com can supply a nice Comp cam for your desired engine setup. matt neuharth From delk can really spec out a custom grind and it's about the same price as an off the shelf comp cam.
you can get a V6 cam through jegs or Summit as long as you have the part#.
you also need valve springs for the higher lift and it is wise to get hardened pushrods.
it won't be cheap at all especially the install
