gear help
I'm fixing to purchase some 4.10 gears but have a few questions, wont it **** with the speedo and shift points since mines an auto? and at 100,000k i'd need new bearings as well huh? any info on re-gearing would be help and be greatly appreciated... thanks
You need the gears and bearing/shim kit (all sites sell them) for the install, a T-lok, or other limited slip differential, also is not a bad idea either, especially with 4.10s.
You will need either a speed calibration device (some sites sell them), or a tuner, to adjust the speedo, not sure if the speedo gears will work for 99+ (such as the 21 tooth, 20 tooth, 23 tooth, etc speedo gears for the tranny).
It will not effect the shift points, that's controled by the ecu. You will shift quicker because your engine will be allowed to rev up quicker due to the higher gear ratio, but you'll shift at the same points.

well if its an 02 you need a tuner, speedcals only work on 5 speeds and the speedo gears are for the 94-98s
id suggest before you buy the gears you get an SCT x-cal 3 from vmptuning.com first, then get the 4.10s, bering kit and LSD (i recomend a detroit true trac)
