Well your also looking at Linear and Progressive springs.
Cutting Linear springs will not change the ride, cutting progressive springs will.
If you cut, just the bottoms off the front and the tops off the rear.
The reason for this is so that you dont change the characteristics of the fronts much and the rears had a dead coil that you will remove.
The Springs in my wifes 01' Cobra had 2 coils cut but because they are linear (Factory) they will have the same ride.
I dont know if our springs are linear of progressive though. You will just have to do some research on that.

Loctite on the bracket bolts? Yes.
I think I mentioned this randomly before but a couple months back I saw a Cobra caliper in the center turn lane and down a ways was the bracket....
