The expy consoles mount to a plate in the roof, so you have to make a mount panel for it. It's really tough because the headliner is glued to the roof. The best way to do it is using a piece of 1/4" mdf between the roof and headliner to mount the console to, but it involves cutting the headliner up, removing it to install the piece of mdf, and then gluing it back to the roof, then you can install the console. If you've never installed an overhead tv in an SUV then you probably shouldn't attempt it. You also have to wire up the temp and send power to the compass and stuff. Wiring up the temp isn't too bad, but you have to mount a sensor outside of the car, somewhere around the cowl panel so it's accurate.

I've put a few different consoles in a few vehicles, no pics though. For a first timer, it's a good little saturday project. The factory headliner is cardboard. If anything, snag a headliner from a junkyard to practice with.

Just make sure you hold up whatever one you want to do in the car, so you can see how big it will actually be. It looks a LOT different on a small stang headliner than on a HUGE suv headliner.

I was thinking the exact same thing. There already is not a whole lot of head space, thats why I was so keen on seeing some pictures haha

My base model 2000 didnt come with the pony on the windshield. I think it was only on certain years and/or models
