Shaun's mini-"build" thread
The h pipe finally came in as did my cats. So I have everything for the exhaust, just have to get it done which probably won't happen till May when I get out of school. Installed my new 12 inch kicker sub, sounds great and bumps but its heavy so I'm going to take it out when I go to the track probably. Also just got the wiring harness and connectors from VMP for my fogs today. I'll post up pics of the fogs when I install them, as well as a video of the old/new exhaust setup when it gets installed. It feels good to finally get some new stuff for my car. Other than the intake spacer, its been awhile.
True that. But I found out I have my summer job, pays $10 an hour which is awesome for me cause usually i'd just get minimum, 35 hours a week, no nights and weekends. So hopefully I can get my flsfc's and maybe the windstar swap done this summer. And for christmas udp, driveshaft, truetrac and 4.10s. Pretty happy. And yesterday was my birthday, so I had a nice little celebration at school haha
Mine last, I'm a saver. Yeah its actually through my school too which is great. Usually I would work a 40 hour week at minimum. Kills a social life in the summer which sucks. I could have made the same at my old restaurant working friday and saturday nights but I hated not getting out till after 12 on the two nights everyone wants to do **** you know.
So I think I am changing my plans with the car. I think I'm going to start sourcing parts for the M112 swap as I get the money. Might sell the longtubes and midpipe to save up for the adaptor plate. Then piece the parts together as I get the money. I'll still throw the high flows on the car just to help the exhaust open up a little, my stock cats have 100k on them anyway, so it can't hurt. Now I can't decide for christmas if I still want to build the rear, obviously not 4.10's. Is it cheaper in terms of installation to just get an lsd installs with no change of gears? Because instead of buying an lsd/installation I could get a good chunk of the parts out of the way with my parents christmas money, blower, tb, plenum, injectors, intake probably. Then I could build the rear when i get the chance. I don't want to blow the stock diff though :/
I can get a used 8.8 for under $400 and I was just going to post and ask how much power they can hold stock. What do stock 8.8 tlocks usually hold up to? That would be alot easier/cheaper and is probably what I'm going to do.
