So in essence by modding your car and making it stand out, what car do you think a cop will probably pull over.. 2 - Prepare yourself that even if you didn't do anything wrong driving wise, the mod itself might be illegal... Now me personally.. I dont ticket for anything I have done to my car myself.. For example... I have tint on my windows, so I don't issue for it UNLESS its to downgrade for something else - like speeding.. I hate issuing a person for speeding.. Unless of course you do it in a school zone as school is letting out and kids are present or in heavy traffic.. Other than that I pretty much look the other way.. I dont like making people have to get points on their license and have insurance rates hiked up and whatnot... But the whole point of this post is that if you are going to put an exhaust on your car, black out the windows, throw illegal hid's, and black out tails, etc.. Prepare yourself ahead of time for the fact that you will probably get pulled over more then if you didnt.. And you cant really blame a cop of that... Its your own fault.. YOU made the car stand out.. YOU did the illegal mods.. and in most cases YOU are the one driving like an idiot.. We (cops) are paid to do many things, one of which is to look for motor vehicle violations and issue for it.. We use our own discreation.. I know we all speed at any given time.. Its human nature to want to have some fun behind the wheel and let go.. But just just prepare yourself for the risks of your actions...

On a side note if you do get pulled over there is one thing that i can say that will help you out the most.. BE RESPECTFUL and BE HONEST.. There is nothing more that I hate then walking up to a car and getting a greeting that goes like this.. "What are you pulling me over for!!!" .. that right there is a guaranteed ticket.. No matter what you say, after having an attitude like that you just got yourself the ticket.. I know a lot of people have issues with authority but just be polite.. We all have to eat **** in this world.. The last thing you want to do is **** off a cop with a ticket book... Because just remember.. Even if you were stopped for 1 thing, doesnt mean the cop cant take a long, slow walk around your car looking for each and every violation.. I have seen guys get pulled over and tell a fellow officer to basically "go f#$# yourself" to which the officer replied to give him a minute while he checked out the car.. the officer then took out his tire pressure gauge and found that the 1 tire was low, found a license plate bulb out, front headlight cracked, mirror cracked, small crack in windshield, license plate frame covering a small portion of the state lettering, loud exhaust, tinted windows, and bad inspection.. All of these were issued along with the red light and unsafe speed... So just be polite and dont talk back...
Agreed! (that's the old fashioned way of saying, "+1") lol

lolll the big post from the copper. i am always polite to the cops, and i respect them and most of the time they respect me back, and it makes it not so much a bad situation and usually get some sort of conversation out of it. especially about the car, ha. but i have run into two cops that were just ****ing ********, like they hated their life and their job or something. i actually forgot to mention my red light ticket, here it goes:

driving down a street, going the speed limit. 3 lane road, i was in the left lane, some guy in a little blue honda or something cuts all the way over from the right lane to get into a turnaround, and almost hits me. well there was a traffic light pretty much right after that turnaround, and the idiot driver obviously threw my attention off the road/light in front of me because i flipped out how close the guy got to me. so right as i get my attention back im about to cross the light and it turned red right as my front bumper crossed the white line, blowing the red light. so of course, the next light is red also, and about 400 feet after the light i just blew. i slow down to the light, and what do you know theres a cop behind me with his lights on. i pull over and the cop comes up, first thing he said of course was license and reg, then he said "why did you blow that red light?", in the most ******* tone a cop could have. i looked at him, and i could tell he saw the whole thing before the light. i said politely, "well by the time i saw the light, there was no time to stop, i was already at the light going 35" (the speed limit). he said "well, ill be right back with your ticket."

that pissed me off pretty good, because i KNOW he saw the whole thing from the way he looked at me and his tone of voice. didnt make sense to me, he could have given the other guy a bigger ticket than me, plus its not like i ran the light 3 second after it was already red. only thing i could gather was he wanted to pull a red mustang over and be an ***. i went to court and explained the whole thing, the cop was not there but it didnt matter i guess for that ticket, it was not dropped, but it was bumped down to impeding traffic, still a 120 dollar ticket. at least i didnt get points, but the fact that it really wasnt my fault bothered me. i almost got wrecked, plus it cost me 120. lame.

lol.. its natural.. unless you are on the job and know that 99.9% nothing bad will come of it you will always have that shaky feeling.. just dont do what this one guy did when i stopped him.. pulled him over for an illegal turn and the guy was shaking and stuttering and i was just like "sir.. calm down.. you are not getting arrested.. i just need to see you license, reg, and insurance" .. the guy took a deep breathe but couldnt stop shaking.. he was having a hard time getting his license out of his wallet and ended up flinging it out and lost it in the air and it ended up hitting his girlfriend in the face... i couldnt help but start laughing and i had to walk/turn away and compose myself.. his girl was just sitting there like "you are an idiot".. he went to give me the license and part of me just wanted to say "keep it.. you made my night" and walk away... but i felt really bad when his girl started hitting on me.. and making comments with double meanings.. i didnt write him but felt so guilty..

you seem like the kind of cop i can respect (i know, i'm sure you don't care about being respected from a internet user but still) i think the attitude you spoke of in you other post the "WHY DID YOU PULL ME OVER" thing, comes more from a few bad apple cops that get pleasure from harassing people (trust me i know a few of them) and then it is assumed that all cops must be like that.

yea.. I know exactly what guys you are talking about.. I mean dont get me wrong.. I get pleasure from harassing people.. Only when its the right people to harass lol.. I give respect to everyone I come in contact with and expect the same in return.. To me I dont understand how some of these guys come off as being d#$ks and expect people to respect them.. I was always told to respect someone until they show you no respect in return.. I mean I have seen guys run up to a car and just start yelling and I'm just sitting there like what are you doing.. But as you stated.. All it takes is a couple of bad apples and people think every cop is like that.. But I can fairly say that I find myself to be a good cop.. Even people I arrest are always nice and apologize and in the end thank me and thats it..

I hate the man!!! Nah I try to respect them. Fearthisinc I wish we had cops like that in my area. All of em a douche bags. They will blow a simple dead tag into a terrorist activity and have the whole squad on your ***. I have considered being a cop for a living and that causes me to respect them.

even though i got my temper, i still respect cops unless they disrespect me. if anyone from california here knows salinas then youll know about our a**hole pd. i understand though that they're just stressed because of the gang problems but i dont know what the issue with chp is. i know the guy in charge of hiring chp. him and two other chippys were the only nice ones ive seen. there was one chippy harrassing me on the road tailgaiting me n my gf. when we looked back he had 4 girls in the car and was acting like a jacka** the whole time. i changed lanes so i could get behind him and see his number to report him but he sped away. never saw that number. i respect all cops but him. he should be kicked out. monterey county sheriffs are always real with people though. theyve always been there for us when i was a kid. thats why im joining them.

I'll will give all of you a few tips on talking to officers of the law. One, let them speak first. There is nothing they hate more than someone spouting off a bunch of nonsense that they don't care about. Two, show some respect, it's empowering and makes them feel appreciated(SIR always works). Three, relax, it's a ticket(or not), it will be over soon and you will both go about your business. Last, but not least, do all the talking, don't ever let a passenger say anything stupid to the officer. It's happened to me before, and I've cut my friend off real quick and saved myself a ticket. Passengers are meaningless, so cops don't care what they have to say anyway, you are the one driving, take control of the situation.

Quick story, I can remember getting pulled over 1 time for driving in a right turn lane only and cutting back over when the light turns green to the forward lane to cut everyone off in a high traffic situation (a stunt I have done too many times to count, I know, I know, my patience needs work). So I cut all these cars off with this maneuver and what do I see in the rear view, a CHP trying to catch me passing cars to get to me, so I pull over so he doesn't have to make risky decisions to get to me to pull me over. He pulls up behind me, walks up to my passenger window and says to me, "Do you know why I pulled you over"? I'm like, of course I know why you pulled me over, I stalled the right turn only lane to cut everyone off so I didn't have to wait in traffic. He smiles and says "It been a long time since I've seen someone pull that stunt"! So I said, " you have no idea how many times I've done that trick". So he says, "BTW I appreciate you pulling over before I caught you". I said yeah, it's fine, I knew you were coming after me, and I could see you were passing people on a two lane highway which is dangerous so I felt there was no reason to take this any further. So he says to me, "Why are you in such a hurry!" I said, to be honest with you, I've done that so many times, I didn't even hesitate to do it again, so I don't have a good excuse why I'm in such a hurry. I can see this confused sort of grin on his face, he doesn't know what to say at this point. At this point, I'm talking to him like I've known him for years and he's my best friend. I'm laughing with the guy, shooting the ****, and he is baffled. So he finally gets all my information and what not, runs my name, and comes back to the passenger window. So he says to me, "You have quit a rap sheet here, is there any violation you haven't committed"? So I say to him, I've owned a ton of fast cars from fast Mopars to moderate to fast fords, and to be totally honest with you, I've done so much crazy stuff in a vehicle, and I've never been caught for the wild stuff, always the stupid stuff like what you witnessed. The Officer was belly laughing at me(no lie). So I started rapping to him about the cars I've owned and the stupid **** I've done in them, like doing two lane posi fish tails(awesome stuff), 95mph in a 35(dumb), going 115+ everyday racing cars on the street, just to name a few. So anyway, this is turning out to be confession to a priest damn near. He looks at me with that confused smile again, and says, either you are a great liar, or you are telling the truth. I looked at him and said, do you really think I would tell you some of the crazy things I've done and it all be a LIE. I said, it was a long time ago and I don't drive like that anymore, so it doesn't matter, it's in the past. He is just floored in disbelief, here's me just rambling about experiences and what not, and he's an officer of the law, not a therapist. So anyway, he writes me a ticket for a seat belt (which were cheap at the time) and tells me to have a nice day, and I do the same. I bet he told that story so many times, he got tired of telling it.

P.S Sorry, I got typing, I guess the story wasn't so SHORT!
