My daughter took her mustang tonight filled it up at gas station. Called me gas leaking everywhere. Please help single mom not a clue.

First guess is that the car got over filled. It will look like gas is spilling out.

Second thought is that there is a leak in the filler neck, so as she was filling, it wasn't all going into the tank. Some ran down and collected around the tank, and spilled out afterwards.

Third (and least likely), there is a hole in the fuel cell somewhere. If that were true, you'd think it would have shown sooner.


Any info on where the gas was actually leaking from?

Ive had my car overfilled at the gas station once and I did leak a pretty substantial amount on the ground.

Could be the gasket for the filler neck into the tank. My neighbor's 2000 v6 would leak if he had more than 1/2 tank of fuel.
