Clean looking for a 98. Congrats, stick around and you'll learn a lot.

This week I got the 235/60R16 Yoko's mounted out back on the waffles, and was able to run the car thru DMV. The car passed without issue, so it now has 2 year tags.

Jack & I will soon be picking up an 8.8" rear w/T-Lok, Motive 3.90:1 gears, UPR spherical UCA bushings, and GMS differential cover/girdle. The 3.90:1 gears will be perfect IMO for Jack's car, especially with the taller 235/60R16 Yoko's out back. Once we install the rear, the taller tires will change the car's final effective gear ratio to a calculated 3.6985:1, which is within a nice all-around range for the street. If Jack runs shorter 255/50R16 Mickey Thomspon ET Street DR's at the track (which will fit on the factory waffle wheels), the final effective gear ratio will be a calculated 3.8402:1 ratio - again right where he should be for running N/A at the track.

EDIT: And in case anyone was wondering, I'm JRAB277's Dad!

As a refresher, here is a "BEFORE" shot -

Here are some pictures that show off what we did this winter:
  • Eibach springs
  • New LCA's
  • 1.4" hubcentric rear spacers
  • S197 17" Bullitts & tires (10K mile take-offs from local CL for only $100!!!)
  • slightly wider New Edge 8.8" rear with 3.90:1 gears and t-lok

It's amazing what a new set of shoes and a drop will do to improve the look, doncha think?

[I apologize for not washing it first! ]

Have those rims powder coated black or the color of your car, or even black chrome. It will look better, the silver/white color of those rims has never looked right to me. But nice work thus far, keep it up.
