Default NYstangs build thread place

Guess i should finally make this, for anyway who wants to follow its progress...

Platform is my 2002 3.8/Auto coupe. Basic features only, so at least its a bit of a lightweight(no leather, no 6-disc, no aftermarket stereo crap). Might as well start from the beginning...

Starting point:

Stage 1: Be a parts *****.

check.

picked up this 8.8 from a 97, packing a 'rebuilt' T-lok, and 3.08 gears. bought some 3.55's from a mach 1 for it, and will be transferring over my brake parts(calipers and such on it are shot). When the gears were going in, we found that the 'rebuilt' T-lok was well worn, and would be hit-or-miss. replaced it with a 8k mile OEM one from Timspony's old 91GT. rear is now sitting in his friends garage, will be getting wire-wheeled and repainted before installation

no idea what to do with those wheels. Can also see the shiftkit, and subframe connectors in taht photo.

-installed MM full length subframes
-purchased Trans-go shift kit, and B&M supercooler.
-Installed birthday gift from girlfriend

started buying exhaust parts- MAC longtubes/H-pipe, magnaflows, Flowmaster tailpipes. Screamin demon coil/livewires for ignition.

Headers will be cleaned up and repainted black.

more to come

Beginning parts for M112 swap:

Autometer guages:
-oil pressure
-water temp
-vac/boost

have to paint the pillar still. replacing the autometer pushpin things with something a bit...sturdier.

TorkTech Hood scoop. This car WILL have the M112 under the stock hood. I wish i knew now- the work the scoop needed to have a quality paintjob, i could have had a Cobra R hood for a couple jacksons more.

on a car:

new eaton, came off a friends 30k car. also has TB and plenum, not pictured. will be doing a home-port on the plenum, and repainting the FORD SVT(its comp orange now).

I need this blower, it blows out my money...

PLATES!

....too bad its not mine.

ninja edit-
just arrived via UPS.
new headlights:

and JLT RAI

more to come....

yup- redrilled them 1/2" back. Wanted them far enough that if i ever use my 01 bumper or the stock front, I can use the original holes without a problem. fit perfectly!

These parts...arent the half of it

realistically with school and all, end of May. hoping to have it ready for dyno and all well before then though, maybe ditch classes a day to get there. just odds and end that need to get done as well(tranny flush, mufflers/tailpipes need hangers welded on, new tips)

Such a ricer riding around with boost gauges and no boost... And the bottom two not hooked up! Might I suggest getting rid of the water temp for wideband 02?

build should be interesting when its done.
