Default 4/10/11 First time at the drag strip with the 01' -=- DriverMod XL has Started!

We ran the 01' Sixxer for the first time tonight, we went to Ozark Raceway Park.
Ozark Raceway has a 1/4 mile track for cars slower than 11.90, any faster than 11.90 and you have to shut her down at the 1/8 mile mark.

Elevation is 1500'

My wife (April) drove the Mustang tonight while I filmed it on the 7D.

We ran two ways tonight.
The first was 100% stock w/ a K&N drop in which gave us a best of 16.56 @ 85mph.
The second was with a DiabloSport tuner and a few shift/pressure parameters modified which gave us a best of 16.33 @ 81mph.

This was just a canned tune, I ran 91oc.
This was the first time we have been out for a while racing, over 5 years for April.
I need to tweak the tune a little for next weekend.

Stock: 16.56 @ 85mph
Tune: 16.33 @81mph

Part of DriverMod XL is to track the cars performance from stock to modified, this also includes 1/4 mile times even though the car is more for the twisties.

The results that we got fall within the range of stock to near stock 99-04 Auto Sixxers.

I will post the vids soon and the time slips as well.
Right now I am going to bed.

Update: Slips

***UPDATE***

April 29th run
As you can see, the shift point killed what would have been a much quicker run as she had my run beat till the 1000ft mark.

Looking forward to seeing the slips to compare the 60' times between the two runs. I'm surprised the mph dropped so much on the tuned run, yet she shed 2/10ths.

Nice goin!

quicker time with a lower trap usually means the car hooked better, but those traps seem slow, my 02s best run was 15.7 at 89 mph with a 2.2 60'

While putting the tune on I noticed an extra thick chunk of sound deadening was right under the gas pedal.

I never noticed it before because I dont really beat the car on the street.

I told April to push as hard as she could past it and she said it made a difference and she could feel the resistance from the carpet and padding.

She said she did hook really well after the tune was put on, I set the shift point a bit high I think (Remembering tuning with the 96') at 6000rpms. The slower trap is probably because of running over the powerband.

I tried it on the street after the drags were over and the way it hooked from 1-2 could only be explained as if the tire were wrapped in Gorilla Tape.

Next week I am going to try a shift point of 5250 to see if it helps the trap speeds.

April's Reactions were really slow because she is getting use to it again.
When she raced in California she always was quick off the line, she had that point of letting go right before the green down to a science.

Yeah, we are going to hit it again this Friday and Sat.

I am thinking that we should run again Friday without the UDP's to try to get a better time with the tuner then put the ASP UDP's on and go out Sat and see what she runs.

A photo of the stang tonight.

Taken with my 7D + 24-105mm

This is the DSLR I bought to video DriverMod XL.
I still have my 1D Mark III though.

Sorry for taking so long on getting the vids to you guys.
Looks like I have to buy some video editing software because the version I have doesnt work with the files the 7D produces.

Has the car been high centered before? Looks like the pinch weld is all bent up in the middle, along with the side skirt.
