This all happened back in October... I took the $8,300 minus $500 deductible and said goodbye to her for good. Insurance let me get the brakes, entire stereo system, wheels/tires, scoops, and chin spoiler... as long as I put something in it's place. And of course I unlocked the x-cal 3 while I was at it.

And I wanted another new edge just because of all the stuff that would go from my v6 to another new edge. I found 2 Oxford white Mach 1's... one had extensive (and sketchy body work) done and the other was an auto. Both had 9x,xxx miles The dealers wouldn't go lower than $13k on either. Found the WS6 on craigslist from a private owner... cheaper and less drama. It needed a new PS pump and clutch master cylinder, so I replaced those with high performance stuff already. Also installed the SLP exhaust and pieced together my Mustang's stereo and put that in there. Other than that it is stock.

It hauls ***... I'll leave it at that I won't gloat because I still respect and love Mustangs, but the Mach 1's just couldn't keep up with it. Plus the appeal of a simple, cheaper to build, powerful OHV engine instead of a pricey 4 cam DOHC engine was another plus. And I've also wanted a WS6... in black. I couldn't pass it up

Sorry to hear about the car but $8300 for a 02 V6 is a hell of a payout.

Glad to see you got a WS6 instead of a catfish. It needs rims/tires and some tips to fill up those wide cut outs.

Yeah, 1 cam, 16 springs and pushrods are a lot cheaper than 4 cams and 32 springs. Forget about Jessel followers. lol

I like the LSx platform, its a great, easy to work on platform that is small, light and makes great power.

We toyed with the idea of putting a LS1 into Aprils 93' 300ZX but ended up traded it later.

You'll like the LS1. With a decent set of heads and a mild cam you'll make 450 at the wheels easy. You're not getting that out of any 99-04 Mustang without F/I.
