Screw the flowmasters! I had a single flowmaster installed today and not only is there a crazy drone at 2k rpm but the shop that did it cut my pipe and welded it on! I have no idea what to do now.

I installed dual 40 series mufflers with an h pipe and the drone isn't getting any better. I have close to 2000 miles on them and thought they would quiet down inside the car a little more but that hasn't happened. I love the sound outside the car but it is bothers me cruising down the road inside. I would like some insight on a set of mufflers with out the drone but still has a deep tone outside the car. I went with flowmasters because i wanted to stay away from the rice burner sound. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

I got the FM40s and love them. There is a bit of a drone at crusing speed, though. Doesn't bother me much, but my wife complains when we're trying to have a conversation.

Here's my thread on them: https://mustangforums.com/m_573138/m.../tm.htm#573138

I'm picking it up from the same shop tomorrow. I had them weld in a bung for my A/F sensor, weld in four flanges to make for easier exhaust removal, and also had them put in two 24" glass packs staggered at about 3" to break up the drone a bit. I'll probably just create a new thread with the pics and sound clip this weekend.

I just purchased the Flowmaster American Thunder...

My understanding is that Flowmaster designed the AT to work with the V6...

Will let you know after I get installed how they sound and if there is any drone...

Might be a week or so.... it got shipped via UPS Ground... Doh.... [:@]

I just got my system "upgraded". I'm am now 100% happy with my decision to go with the Flowmasters. Check out pictures on the thread I started. I'll have video/sound clips hopefully by Monday afternoon.
