Default Thoughts on Flowmaster's 40 series

hi guys i just recenty bought a 06 mustang n want to slap on some flowmasters what are your thoughts on these mufflers n im also to new to the forum

first do a search there are many threads about the 40's and some sound clips, i have them they are loud and seem to get better sound as i wear them in more but if you go dual you will get a good drone when cruising a lil above 2k. hope this helps some

Does anyone have the Super 40 series mufflers, Im supposed to be getting them installed but never heard them I really like them because there black, cant wait to here them![

Wound up with Dual MRT mufflers instead!

i'd say go single. The two mufflers will be identical and thus create an interferance of amplitude called "drone". This drone is caused by two frequency's in close proximity and cause irritating loudness and bad sound. Thats why i'm goin single!

"Irritating" and "loudness"- I've heard these words, but never used together like this before I have a 2 1/4" H-pipe system feeding Flowmaster 40's and it's fine. The dreaded "drone" lasted for a couple hundred miles and now I can carry-on a normal conversation, at speed. I kinda miss the drone, actually.

anyone get the new flowmaster muffler replacement for the v6 yet? i know they came out with the system for the gt, but now they have a single muffler replacement for the v6 and i was wonderin if anyone had it yet and if so if they could post a soundclip...im lookin for exhaust and i want loud, but not obnoxious, and not where it will be annoying inside the car.

Flowmaster did just come out with a v6 muffler

um ya...so now im thinkin about getting the flowmaster american thunders made for the gt and getting a custom H pipe made so that i can have duals...anyone done this...any opinions?
