Default Rear Sway-bar Problems

I finally got around to installing a rear swaybar on my '05 convertible.

It seems like there is a VERY tight fit as the swaybar is touching the chasis reinforvements (V-shape bars running accross the back).

The part # I ordered is 6R3Z5A772B.

Can anyone please post pics of their convertible swaybar install?

I am not sure if I installed it wrong or I got sent an incorrect part from Ford.

Thanks a lot,

Dave

If you got the part number you ordered, it should not be touching the reinforcing bars. That, or you installed it upside down. The hang tag the says "L" left, goes on the drivers side of car. It's one of these two cases. Good luck!

Hey guys, thanks for the help.

I am thinking I probably installed it upside down as the bar is definately touching the chasis reinforcements.

I will probably take another shot at installing it this afternoon.

One doesn't have to remove ALL those things just to put on the rear sway bar do they? Oh my God!

I tried installing the bar the other way and there is no way it would fit.

I included some pictures (I hope), can anyone tell me if they possibly sent me the wrong bar?

Thanks...

The paper tags indicate the left side. You got it inversed. From what I gather, the bar will go above your vert reinforcing bars, not under.

Mine is ready to install. I tried to simulate on the floor reversing it and I see the condition you have.

No it is a direct bolt on... takes about 2 hours taking your time , and I would agree it looks like you may have it reversed...

Putting the bar above the reinforcements would make sense.

That is the ONLY way the tag will fit on the left.
