Finally going to install my 4.0 fender emblems (after second-guessing, then losing one, then more $&*$% snow).

Just wondering where you've placed them, those of you that have them. I figure on pretty much the same location as the GT emblem, but if any of you have measurements and/or pics, I'd be very appreciative.

Also going on are the "M U S T A N G" trunk letters from the 65-72 models! Just have to decide whether to spread them the whole length of the decklid or keep them between the taillights like the old stangs (and the example below) did.

Space the letter between the lights. I think think they are too small to space much farther apart. It would make it hard to read if it went all the way across the deck. There was a post here I saw yesterday with a diagram for placing the tri-bar pony badge, I would guess the 4.0 would go in the same place.

Put running pony fender emblems on instead and forget the trunk lid letters!

 

Thanks for the feedback, guys! Lester, you removed your stripes, right? Did that affect the look of your 4.0 emblems? I don't have stripes yet but I'll probably get them in the future.

beaustang, I do love the tri-bar running pony fender emblems, but I've already got one on my grille (and of course the stock one on the fake gas cap), plus I'm getting fanblade wheels with the running pony center caps, so I want something a little different on the fenders. I also want to make sure nobody mistakes me for a fake GT because I have the fogs and dual exhaust.

Any other opinions? Anybody else have the stick-on trunk letters? I know Lester and PW have a different kind, but I think Torch_vert was looking at the old school raised letters. Any luck, torch?

i say go with the raised letters, they look nicer than mine do

but heres a pic of the stripe removed... i think it makes the whole car look a lot cleaner and makes the badges look better as well.



now all i have to do is trade in those side skirts and get some clear corners and a GT front facsia and i'll be set!

also, i am not much of a fan for the "MUSTANG" letter, but that is just me, some people seem to really like them
