I have the Bel 995 also, and it saved my *** more then once! Before that i had a few 100-150$ ones and the difference in performance is noticible, the 995 is a ton more reliable.

If you feel you need a radar detector, don't cheap out, a good one will cost at least $250 give or take usually, but after one or two tickets it has paid for itself.

get a phaser II radar scrambler....i dunno about where you live but in Illinois, it's legal. Basicaly, when you drive by a cop, it scrambles their radar, and their aint nothin they can do about it. If they don't have you clocked, no matter how fast you "looked" like you were going, they can't ticket you.

well I have always ran with Uniden radar detectors and have all ways had good luck with them, I was in a situation where there was a car ahead of me and a car that was behind me. we were running 90 in a 75 down I-90 just west of Spokane going west the car behind me was going to pass me at that moment my laser band went nuts so I nailed the brakes the car from behind now went flying by me like I was standing still, the cop pulled out of the brush up on the freeway and went for the lead car as the other car tried to go around him the cop blocked his path so I figured I would just pull over also just in case, as the cop got out of is car he waved me on, I chucked about that all the way across Washington

But I was just checking into some uniden models because mine is getting older and I want to upgrade. And I Think uniden has stopped making radar detectors which Sucks!! If that is the case Escort will be my next radar detector

by the way love your car!!!!

Its not worth to get a cheap one for sure. The Escort Solo is the best , but about $299. I've had others, they are a waste of money. Plus its wireless and portable. Check out the Escort Solo website first..
Tom
Valentine is a lot better than Escort. But for the $100-150 range the best would be a Cobra.

Damn! Hard to talk your way out of those when you've got a detector - LOL

How'd you get caught - radar or laser? I only got lazed a few times with my Valentine, and it didn't help. It was killer against "instant-on" radar, though. It would pick it up several miles away, when they gunned other cars.
