well me and my bro in law got our 06 mustangs the same day, both 5-speeds but mines coupe his is conv. re raced the other day and 1st was totaly even then 2nd he blew me away. 2nd gear on mine is a real pig. is there REALY a difference between stock and the CAI intake, tuner, under-drive crank pulley and headers?? (i already have a custom dual exhaust and rear gt bumber).

Agen its a 5-speed and i shift like i stole it .

i just want to beat him once... if i had nos i would only use it like once every month, just to race a ricer now and then. would all these bolt ons and 55 shot be faster than a stock 06 gt??

Not only being burnt alive it does good damage to your engine thats not worth it ( you can throw piston rods easily and so on) and cuts down the life of your engine by alot.

What year is your brothers gt?

I suggest opening up the intake that a c&l intake or demolot intake with a bamachips tune from dave. Our stock tune and airbox is ****.
http://bamachips.com/store/index.php...products_id=20 - my next upgrade

Also if you havent changed the tires, just for safety reasons you definatly want to do this soon. Upgrade to performance tires. Stock tires are crap. Go for a good known company, im personally getting goodyear eagle f1's if you want to look those up.

Is you v6 Manual or Auto?

Some 4.10 ratio gears and a t-lok (limited slip) would also be a nice upgrade. http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...ruetrac-1.html or t-lok http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/drivetrain2.htm
Gears are on that 2nd website also

Also completing your exhaust system with headers and an x pipe would suit you well for more power.

Whichever root you prefer but whatever way you go dont go cheap, you get what you pay for, and nothing runs cheap now a days.
Actually our stock air box isn't all that bad.... It's pretty good actually up to about 4000 RPM...

Here's the stock air box vs the C&L:

Replacing the stock muffler with a good aftermarket muffler will give you a nice gain... even a GT take-off... you'll pick up about 10RWHP. We got about 10RWHP gain with a single Magnaflow axle back... I then switched to an MRT axle back and picked up an additional 7RWHP! I know the aero-turbine stuff sounds like hocus-pocus but it does work... we were very surprised but the dyno did show the gains I was feeling:

Headers on our cars is good for only a few HP... same with the X pipe... really no big gain with these two mods... and considering headers are a fairly expensive.. not really worth it...

LOL, I know it man! But you brought up a good point, so I thought I would mention it. I'm not bashing you, you are right, nitrous isn't for everyone, but I just think a bit more substance is required before reccomending against it. Nitrous requires someone that is detailed oriented I think.

Yea, I dyno'd the X pipe, 2hp gain. And acording to dyno experts, 2HP on a dyno is arguable.

I tuner will definitely help... a CAI will help too... mainly in the higher RPMs..

You could get the Zex 2005+ GT kit... it works perfectly on the V6. You could run the 75HP shot... You can run the 75HP shot with the stock timing... if you do get a tuner you'll need a custom tune.. I do recommend if your going to run N20 that you get the car on a dyno... make sure everything is working properly and that your A/F is ok...

The 75HP should make it a pretty even match up...

BTW... TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!

Yea, and I wouldn't get the Zex without the racers kit. The added safety of the blow off valve and blow down tube out the car is a must in my opinion. I never considered the kit without it.

the amount of shot of nitrous is like boost from a tc or sc.. 10psi from a FI system is like a 100shot of nitrous.. a guestimate example for our motors. theres no relation that 10psi automatically means 100 shot

i've been reading up on static compression ratio, effective compression ratio, boost, etc... LOL!
