Default Nitrous Help

i REALLY want to beat my brothers Gt, but cant wait that long to have it suppercharged, so.... The only mod i have right now is a dual exhaust. Can i run nos??? if not what do i need to be able to run it?

Also where do i get the NOS from??? i mean the actualy filled bottles not the systems. Ive never used it before so any info would be greatly appriciated.

Nitrous is like a hot chick with herpes...you want to hit it, but you are scared of the consequences..

My suggestion to you is to wait. Some other guys here run nitrous set ups, but i personally dont care for the bottle at all just due to all the risks. I would suggest to you just go with a tune and CAI next, then move on to gears or more bolt on parts. Possibly complete your exhaust system to with like headers and an x pipe. Also are you ready to drill into your manifold for the bottle? Its your car though, If you want to be a bottle baby, go with zex or atleast thats what most of the mustang owners here run and i heard it was rated better then most.
( http://www.zex.com/ ) Also have you looked into the risks of running on the bottle? (Flame suit on to who all that love the bottle) LOL

Not only being burnt alive it does good damage to your engine thats not worth it ( you can throw piston rods easily and so on) and cuts down the life of your engine by alot.

What year is your brothers gt?

I suggest opening up the intake that a c&l intake or demolot intake with a bamachips tune from dave. Our stock tune and airbox is ****.
http://bamachips.com/store/index.php...products_id=20 - my next upgrade

Also if you havent changed the tires, just for safety reasons you definatly want to do this soon. Upgrade to performance tires. Stock tires are crap. Go for a good known company, im personally getting goodyear eagle f1's if you want to look those up.

Is you v6 Manual or Auto?

Some 4.10 ratio gears and a t-lok (limited slip) would also be a nice upgrade. http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...ruetrac-1.html or t-lok http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/drivetrain2.htm
Gears are on that 2nd website also

Also completing your exhaust system with headers and an x pipe would suit you well for more power.

Whichever root you prefer but whatever way you go dont go cheap, you get what you pay for, and nothing runs cheap now a days.

I think the zex kit is a great buy, and you wont hurt yourself unless your being stupid the kit just doesnt blow up for no reason, if I were you I would get the zex kit then when your ready get your supercharger and then youll have both and you can run like a 55 shot of NOS and you car would be fast as hell and youd smoke the crap out of your bros GT!

You can't beat a stock 2005 GT with bolt ons with our cars if its a equal driver equation. Nitrous isn't for everyone, I have had success with it, but now have money saved up for FI. Just narrowing down what I want, still waiting for the results of the Xcharger and hoping the turbo group buy pans out.

However, nitrous can be done on our cars safely, most of which is in the tune and not getting greedy. The 2nd part is safety, the Zex kit from my research is one of the safest ktis on the market. It comes with a nitrous control unit that monitors the mixture so you do not run too lean. Lean can lead to detonation, that can lead to engine damange. My tuner has my setup to run fat as a pig, AF of 10. And I don't spray till 2500, so I'm off the line a good bit when I spray. I also got the racers kit for added safety, which provides a blow down tube, valve and pressure guage, and bottle heater that cuts off at a certain temperature.

Google for nitrous setups on the net! You will be amazed at the articles out there. One thing I found in my research was that a majority of people that had damange motors with nitrous was due to not being aware of what it was, and respect it. For example, one picture shows the rear end of the car blown to bits because the owner left the heater on his bottle and didn't have a blow off vavle, so the pressure built up so much it blew the bottle. Other people that up the shot without a proper tune run too lean and blow a piston or head gasket.

It's not for everyone, and it requires care, attention, understanding and respect. The Zex kit makes it easy because of the added safety features and the NCU prevents you from running lean.

For me, it was down to two things, one, I want 12's...LOL. And two, I go to the track so much I spend $150 a month on juice. I go to the track 3 times a month, times $50 bucks a bottle.

Anyway, thought I would provide a little bit more information other than, there are risks, blow your motor, or other statments without some hard facts.

For headers, every shop I called said on this motor NA, they don't provide a gain until you run FI or nitrous. As for flame suit, actually Scrming just told me that you have to wear a fire retardant coat (fireman grade) at the NHRA tracks if you run nitrous, SC or TC.

If I were you, I would get a CAI/Tuner combo from Doug, Lidio, Justin or Brenspeed. It will make a night and day difference in your car. Following that I would get a muffler, MRT, magnaflow, JBA, somethign less restrictive. Following that gears and lsd. Give that a try then decide on a power adder.

Thats pretty much what I did, got the Zex, learned how to drive at the track, now moving on to FI.

With the proper setup our cars can pretty much run the 75HP shot all day long with no real harmful effect... I made a lot of passes on the 100HP shot.. probably close to 30 passes at the track and a number of dyno pulls... I pushed my car to the limit with the 125HP shot... I spray very early... like at 2000 RPM making something like 460 ft/lbs of RWTQ! I made about 6 passes, couple dynos and a little bit of screwing around on the street... I lost a cyclinder a week ago at the track... on the 125 I was able to run 13.13... on the 100HP shot the car went 13.38... I'm having the motor torn down this week... we'll se just what the weak link was...
