Why switch to an aftermarket stereo? it is possible just to add to what you have. I have the shaker 500 and added a 1600 watt amp to it along with a single 10" DVC older rockford fosgate sub.....made one hell of a difference.

I have 2 8" Cerwin Vega Subwoofers, Replaced the stock speakers with JL audio and added two 2" tweeters in the doors. Valor DDA-650wt DVD/Mp3/Cd/TV headunit w/XM radio all powered by a Hifonic zx8000 Amp (800 wt) w/ power capacitor. I recommend the DVD player in our cars, because a 6" unit is about the same size as our stock radio. I never had a car where I went all out on the stereo before, so when I got my Stang I pissed my wife off and got it. She got over it and my system still rocks.

Yeah, say hello to the REAL MVP. How Nash gets it over Kobe or LeBron is still a mystery to me.

amystery2u, How can you say the factory head unit sucks? I'm 38 years old and have owned
12 or so cars and usually the FIRST thing I do is change out the factory head unit for a good
Kenwood or Alpine, But I'm happy with the Shaker 500, I'm an '80s headbanger to this day
and Metallica, Godsmack and AC/DC never sounded so good. Hell this thing makes even
Culture Club bareable. Dunno maybe it's just me?

Heres my setup: Alpine CDA 9855 Head Unit
Alpine 5x7 Type R speakers with tweeters
Two Rockford Fosgate Amps
Rockford Fosgate Capacitor and wiring
Scoshe Subwoofer Enclosure
JL Audio W3 12
Dynamat Top of trunk and license plate
Custom Amp Rack

Heres a pic of the amp rack, not a very good one but its all I have of it.

Where are the subs at? That enclosure for the amp & capacitor looks pretty cool. Nice set up.
Mine doesn't look half that cool, but sounds darn good.
