I saw these stats on new Camrys: http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/reviews/rt2530b.shtml it seems to have more HP even a bit more torque and 0-60 in just about the same. Seems our stock V6 are somewhat underpowered,....funny thing I used to have a Camry before my new Stang, but its engine died.......

 

daaaaaaaaaaaamn...... 268 hp? something aint right there. camry's used to be some of the lightest cars around. if they were pushin 268 hp and only hitting 14.9 then they must now be heavy as crap.....

 

I have a hard time beliving a toyota has that much stock torque compared to the hp nevermind a camry.

 

Camry isn't geared near as aggressivly as a Mustang, it's geared for a smooth, quiet, comfortable ride, and its heavy because it has all the bells and whistles family sedans of its type, like the TL get, hp and tq isn't the only thing that matters in a race.

 

Also, that 99mph trap speed is insane for a car running 14.9 that's a low-mid 14 trap speed, either it's a typo or the Camry has big traction issues.

 

Wow. Beefy Camry, but it has trouble hauling that big *** (read: FWD).

 

thats odd tho.... cuz historically (although breifly ) the camrys have been light as hell. the corolla and camry were both under 3k. the corolla was like 2600 lbs (i used to own one [>:]) but i guess they must have changed em up a bit....

 

Are you guys looking at the Camry's.....or the Camry Solara's? Both weigh in about 3430 lbs curb weight.

 

The previous Camry v6's were only about 100lbs lighter weighing 34xx lbs, but yeah the Carolla's are light as hell. Toyota is trying to position the V6 Camry as a direct competitor to the TSXand Accord v6, hence more luxery. The v6 Camry does weigh more then the TSX and accord v-6 but then, it's a v6 and the TSX an i-4, and the Accord doesn't have as many features as the Camry. Performance wise the Camry slaughters the TSX and should be about even with the Accord v-6.

 

Stock Carmy @ 14.9? What would one of our v6's make a quarter-mile in?
