First oil change
I got my first oil change this morning at 2535 miles.....The guy at Valvoline told me that Ford recommends using FullySynthetic oil in the mustang. What normally cost me about $32.00 for oil change was now $46.00. Did I get the shaft or is this true.

interesting. My service advisor said if I use Synthetic Ford will void my warranty. How strange. I plan to use it anyway but much later after 10K or so.

I'm really not that concerned about the warranty. I'm sure that if my engine exploded tomorrow, they would have a very tough time proving that it was due to my oil, or something I've done to the car. The warranty has a pretty short lifespan, so I don't plan on kissing up to my dealership in any way. In fact, I don't plan on taking it in ever. I can check fluid levels and brakes, I can grease my door hinges, and I know when to change the oil and flush the radiator.
I just don't feel like coughing up a hundred bucks every 3000 miles...

Do you guys notice perforamance or fuel consumption improvement with Synthetic?
I switched my minivan from recommended 5-30 (Mobil 1) to 5-20 (Mobil 1) and feel slight improvement in acceleration and economy slightly went up (.5 of mile better per gallon).
