the thing that gets me is that my moms 3.2L engine pulls harder and makes more hp and is faster, and its pulling more wieght than my 4.0 Thats the thing that pisses me off-- they could have designed this a bit better IMO
Well Ford coulndn't do that, then the GT would have to be faster and would their for cost more. Well if its more horses you want, I believe the its either the 2007,08 or 09 which will have the 3.5L V6 w/ 250 horses. not sure how much torque i think its 230. Lol that just kicks you in the *** doesn't it.
no i'd rather have a 4.0 with 210 than a 3.5 with 250- it just sounds better!

I wanna know what all they did to their car to make the front wheels come off the ground with only a 75 shot of nitrous.

That car runs 11.60 now with a Vortech SC, I talked to Paul on the phone about it. But at the time of that picture, here is what it was running:

PHP V6 air box kit
• PHP A/C bypass belt
• PHP/SCT tune
• PHP alternator under drive pulley
• PHP V6 engine mounts
• PHP V6 strut brace
• PHP upper and lower rear control arms
• 4.10 gears with GT 8.8
• Slicks and skinneis
• Rear seat delete
• Sound system delete
• JBA shorty headers
• JBA H pipe with cat converters and dual exhaust

What's the $1500 adder that will get us to the mid 13's, nitrous?
ORIGINAL: ranebowcyxx

Fact of the matter is, most of us, if not all could have bought a GT. I have had many fast cars in my life so buying a 6 was new to me, hell even my last luxobarge was a V8, granted it was a northstar, but I digress.

In picking out my car I knew I wanted a mid to high 13 second car. Obviously right off the lot the GT does that, but for almost 5500 dollars more.

For about 1500.00 I can get my 6 into that range and still enjoy the great looks of this car as much as any GT owner.

To each his own.

I have been driving MUSTANGs since 1968. The 68 had an inline six and a three speed on the floor. Our 99 had a smaller V-6, which I never considered a performance motor. I LOVE the 4.0 in the 05 and when I climb into my ESCAPE after driving the MUSTANG, I often wonder what is wrong with the ESCAPE (3.0 V-6), as it feels so lazy compared to the MUSTANG.

You want fast, get the V-8, spend the extra insurance money and put a bunch of money into performance parts and suck down all the extra gas.
