the 3.8 ran 0-60 in 8.5 to 9 seconds right???? and the 4.0 0-60 is in the 6's, thats a pretty awesome difference with just 30 more horse power from the 3.8, i raced a scion from a dig and he stood no chance, the only close race ive had was with a 3.8 trans am, but i still took him, now the nissan maxima 3.5 is a pretty powerfull car, but when i raced it i barely went infront. so compare the scion and the colbalt to a 3.5 nissan or the v6 trans am, its obvious the 4.0 would rip them new holes.

i drove one of the ss 2.4 litres with my dad when we were still car shopping and that thing is SLOW. the s/c is much faster, but btw the 14.4 times that you see are mostly with that g85 package or whatever it is. It's a $1500 package that gives the car recaro seats, an lsd, and slicker tires. without that most of them run high 14's

I love the fact that he backs down and decides not to race because "her dad is crazy" or some crap like that...whatever...I bet he tried to race one at a light or something and got smoked LOL

are they f#^kin' s*&%%ing me? ain't no way. i came close to getting one, because of the blower, but when i found out that they were SLOW even with the blower, i changed my mind. i would rather have a scion tc over the cobalt anyway.

that's if i couldn't have the stang.

There is no such thing as a 3.8 trans am.

I agree with you, numbers don't lie, but people like to delude themselves about thir cars. I perfer to be realistic, there are cars i run faster then and cars thjat will kill me.

Just so you know, their is no such thing as a v6 trans-am, the v6 model is just a Firebird while the v8 is a Firebird Trans-Am (or Formula). The v6 is 200/225 and weighs about what we weigh, the V8 is a beast.

Personally, I could care less which one is faster. There is no comparison as far as looks go. Cobalt=cheap economy car, Mustang=outstanding looks. They are comparing their ricer lookin frontwheel drive cars to a Mustang. I say there is no comparison apples between and oranges.
