Default trouble starting your 2006 stang

This question is for the 2006 owners....Once in a while I will start it as I usually do and its like its half way started, its like its trying to start, it vibrates and rumbles and then dies....the second time I turn the key it starts perfect. Its happened twice in 1600km....should I take it in for an inspection?

I'd go with yes. I've got about 1k Miles on mine and it starts perfectly each time. Even after putting in my little blue button

mine has done this generally after an extended drive, took it to dealer, "couldn't replicate the complaint" was the report, seems like it has to re-prime the fuel or something, only happened a couple of times within the first 2-3k miles

well maybe its apart of the breaking in part of the car....I will wait till I get about 10,000km on the car. If it still happens I will take it in under warranty

That happens to my car sometimes, but my car lives outside in the cold and the rain and the snow, so I dont know if its weather related. I notice it happening on cold days. I won't ever go to the dealership again for anything. I had to take my car back 3 times for an electrical problem. On the third try they finaly replaced a modual in the smart junction box.

mine did this recently and then two days later the wrench light came on and i couldn't give it any gas. it was the throttle control system. long story short..took it to the dealer and it didn't pull a code but everyting pointed back to the throttle and they replaced it. haven't had a problem since..*knock on wood*

Hey there,

I've had this happen to my 05 a few times myself... I've taken it to the dealership but they couldn't recreate the problem. Seemed as if it started happening when it got colder. I figured it was throttle related, if it starts happening a little more consistently I'll see if they replace the part. Which brings me to my question... what part did they replace on your vehicle LisaJ429? Thanks.
