Default Vortech quote

I just got a quote from FAST... http://home.fastspecialties.com/

my question is... do I really need the boost-a-pump? I'm assuming that the upgraded fuel pump.

Hamid,
It has been a zoo around here, so thanks for being patient. Knowing that
you have an X-Cal II, we are looking at doing the "tuner kit" which includes
just a Vortech supercharger kit w/intercooler. We then would add on a set
of injectors and a boost a pump, plus shipping. Below is the itemized price
list:

Vortech Satin Supercharger Kit w/Charge Cooler $3599.95
39lb Cobra Injectors $300.00
Boost-A-Pump $250.00
Shipping $100.00
Installation $1000.00
Tuning $375.00

For a total of $5624.95 completely installed and tuned

Please let me know if you have any questions, and when you would like to get
on the schedule. The kit would ship in about a week after our order date.

Thanks for your inquiry,
Amber

Remember someone posted here can't remember who of an e-mail from Ron for like $3,300.00 for that system, but yea that was a group buy but since I thought you know them you would think they would cut you that deal.

I believe this is reality for the package, and Hamid according to the article by Alt. Auto, without the boost a pump you lose fuel pressure, of course his test was a gt, well worth 200. Screaming could probably share more info, when I read the article I could picture John standing there asking questions about the v-6. LOL.
hey john, where are you?

I think they needed 10 people to buy in order to get that low price. This is still lower than what I'm seeing around.

ok... sounds like the boost-a-pump is a swell idea.

Ok, here is the email I got from Fast a little while back:

On the Vortech…..here is what we can do. For the 05, the Vortech Part Number is 4FU218-610SQ and the Part Number for the 2006 is 4EU218-610-XP. Both kits come with an intercooler, injectors, boost a pump and the Diablo Sport with a start tune.

You would still need to take the car to a qualified Dyno facility to finalize/optimize the tune.

There has been a question raised regarding drilling into the oil pan, but after talking at length to Vortech, and with some 40,000 Vortech kits installed, they have never seen a problem if done properly. They suggest a tapered punch, followed by a tap with some axle grease to tap the hole. It is done with the oil pan full. Once done, the oil is drained and any debris that might have fallen in, will come out with the old oil. This will also save money and labor on S/C oil every 12 months, since you are getting new oil with every oil change you get for the car.

Pricing for the basic Satin unit is $3250.00 (for polished ad $200.00) and FREE freight, so $400.00 below the ATI Procharger. To do this deal we need a minimum of 10 units. The $400.00 you save would go a long way toward the install (if you are having it done by a shop) and the Dyno tune. Vortech shows an 8 hour install for this kit.

The response to the last ATI Procharger deal was very low, so let me know how this deal sounds.

We don't need a BAP! Our cars have a 255LPH pump stock! That should be good up to 400+HP. I don't know where they got the $5600 price from, lol. Holy crap. Email Ron.

Ok.. based on discussions with Lidio and Scott (remember Scott has the Interceptor) they both believe the stock pump is good for 460ish RWHP... and in the 5.0 article Paul states the stock pump is is fine...

ok... those are some sources I can trust LOL!

So... no boost-a-pump thingie... and, I bet I can talk them down on the install price. If parts, install and dyno were $5000, give or take a few bucks, I'm there.
