Default Got and installed my strut tower brace tonight

OK....UPS delivered my new Blue Oval Industries strut tower brace tonight. This is one of the easiest installs ever. It fits great and does not contact the intake at all. I love these cars!

So does anyone know how this brace compares to the Steeda Steel one? The blue oval one is quite a bit less $$ but also appears to be somewhat smaller. Any thoughts?

hmm, thats odd- Does it just bolt to that one strut bolt? Im really surprised at that, seems logical that you should connect it to at least 2. Let us know how it does, and if you could, take a more vertical picture to show the mount better. How much did it cost, and does it hit your hood liner?

From the website pictures at least, it looks that it attaches to 2 bolts on each side. But the question about hitting the hood liner is a good one... I don't think the issue with the Steeda one pressing into the hood ever really got resolved.

The Blue Oval brace does attach to two of the strut tower bolts on each side. As for the fit....there is clearance underneath and it is not touching the intake and I put some baby powder on the top of the bar and closed the hood.....Opening it back up...no baby powder on the liner It's all good!

Awesome, now take it for a little test and give a report tomorrow and I may just change my mind to Blue Oval from Steeda. I may be willing to sacrifice some beef on the bar size for hood clearance.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is this for...I'm assuming it would stiffen up the front end there for allowing for better handling in turns and curves? Is this correct, is there more it does?? also is there a down side to it? thanks

By directly connecting your struts in such a manner, you tighten the cornering abilities of the car, its much like a sway bar except its place in the engine bay. It will give you less body roll as a result. If im not mistaken, it will contribute to understeer.

/me upon realization of the time (1 am) and the fact that im halfway BSing this answer, i think i've probably lit a few canon fuses. Someone please either verify or discredit my response so this guy gets good info.
