I just graduated high school and received a 05 yellow mustang for graduation. I'm looking for mods within a reasonable price. I would like a CAI, headers, full dual exhaust. I know about the programers but I am still on a budget for gas and everything so running 93 octane will hurt the wallet. I'm looking at the MRT cold air intake, JBA headers, and JBA full exhaust. Will all of this require a programmer. If so what would be other options to have great sound and performance without the high octane gas or just options in general. Thanks

Wow, congratulations. What a present, take care of your new steed. I would start with a CAI/Tuner combo from Bamachips, Alt. Auto, Evolution, Brenspeed, etc. 93 vs. 87 tune is not that much difference, and the car will feel like a whole new car after you do this mod. You will be amazed. After that I would do a axle back muffler, followed gears and lsd.

Welcome to the community. How about some pics.

you don't have to use high octane gas with a tuner...It'll also come with a tune for use with 87 octane and one for 91

oops forgot to say welcome and congrats on your new ride, but the biggest congrats for graduating. Post some pics when you can.

Awesome job graduating from HS. So what are your plans now? College? Major? Get on it! Just kidding, you have plenty of time to decide. Just enjoy your new ride. Post some pics when you get the chance. As far as mods, stay away from Turbochargers. It makes you think you are all that and a bag a oats. Just kidding Rygen, wish I had one, you lucky bastid. I would get the CAI and tune as Satan up there recently installed. Read his updates, they are good. I went with duals first because I got so sick of looking at that one ugly muffler. THing looked like it came from a dag gone junk yard. So I went with dual magnafloams...next I shall get the CAI and tuner chip. And then next oil slicks and smoke screen.

On a NA car I don't see duals as "bang for the buck" material. Not from a performance perspective. A single axleback on NA will yeild the same gains. Now for looks and sound, the duals are definitely high up on the list. Just my opinion.

To a certain extent, I agree...but if the duals are done correctly...u can see a perfomance gain and if combined with a CAI/tune...

I haven't seen a dyno or time slip yet to prove this on a NA car. Don't get me wrong, I love my duals, and on this one, I would love to see otherwise. Do you have some information on this to share, perhaps dynos or slips?
