Default Scratch removers

I hate steep drive ways that make your car bottom out even goin 3mph....got a few scratches from one on my front bumper...are there any easy cheap ways to make them look almost invisible? p.s. I hate imperfections.

Depends how ddep the scratches are. If theyre only in the clear coat you should be able to buff it out with some rubbing or polishing compound. If theyre past the clear coat, go to the dealership and get a bottle of touch up paint.

Meguiar's Scratch X is great for small scratches in the clear coat, applied in tiny circular motions. It will even diminish slightly deeper ones... just don't expect miracles.

For deeper nicks, I second http://www.paintscratch.com/ They make paint and clearcoat pens (you need both) that match our rides very, very well. Just be very patient and careful when applying.

If you're really looking to avoid imperfections in your paint... buy a new car and stick it in the garage... never open up your garage door or even look at your car ever again.

Well...maybe minor ones. Last week, someone apparently scraped against the back bumper of my car. It had a black scuff mark that was about seven or eight inches going from the driver's side corner toward the license plate. I thought "there's no way anything can get this out." Well...it took about a third of the bottle - and a lot of work - but not only did the scuff come out, but you couldn't even make out the blemish in the clear coat (you can, but you literally have to put your eye up against the bumper and look toward a light to see it - you can't see it at all head-on). Now...I didn't even waste my time trying to get the gouge out of my front bumper - that will need to be touched up. That appeared last week as well.

Last week I was not happy...I owned an Escort for three-and-a-half years, and not once did anyone hit, ding or otherwise damage the car. I've had the Mustang three-and-a-half MONTHS, and this happened twice. [:@]

scratch x works great.

Most people who say scratchX doesn't work were the ones who didn't use it right. (me included)

This thread helped me.

How to remove defects with scratch X
