Default Header compatibility

Hey all,
I have a 2005 V6 mustang and I'm satisfied with the exterior... now i want to start working on the engine...

Currently the only performance mods i have are lowering springs and Magnaflow Dual exhaust for V6's... Next I want to get Long tube headers, not "shorty" headers

Are there any long tube headers out there that would be compatible with my Magnaflow exhaust? I believe they changed the exhuast setup to a H-pipe if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

P.S. Currently I've only found the MAC headers, which I don't know how compatible they would be...also, long tube headers that would pass SMOG for California would be a plus.

yeah, I figured that no long tube headers would be SMOG legal... but that's just a small problem

so MAC would be the only way to go? Are there any rumors of other companies coming out with any soon?

and if i were forced to go the "shorty" way, would it be worth it? performance and sound wise... or is it almost the same as stock?

If you have to get shorties, I'd recommend the JBA's. You get some small performance gains... maybe 5-7 rwhp. And, the sound over stock is incredible!

I've got the MAC shorties, they were a pita to install but well worth it, if you were gonna do a self install go with the JBA's, everyone claims no trouble to install, they are CARB certified for CA, the MAC's are not. I did contact MAC and they did say the shorties are in for certification, dont know when it will happen though
