RE: Warning, this is ugly as hell - V6 Mustangs Competition
Uh oh! Looks like Scion is going to have competition for the empty-nesters-who-can't-quite-give-up-the-mini-van crowd!
Dodge has been marching these shoeboxes on wheels around for years at the auto shows. Yet, it's cars like the Charger concept that actually DRAW people to their displays. Here's another one: link. Dodge Sling-Shot, some piece of junk that fortunately never made it to production. I guess Dodge just can't put it together - a two-seat targa: 3-cyl, 0-60 in 10+ seconds. Some mini-mini-van? 0-60 in 6.7.

I had one of the old Rabbit GTI's back in the 80's. On the rare occasions that it actually ran, it was a fine car.
I would never buy anything VW after that lemon, especially something that ugly. [:'(]

Wow... that's... lame.
Does anyone remember when Dodge and Chrysler put out cars that were actually cool?
Like, when I saw a picture of the Charger, I thought "Neat". When I saw it in real life, I thought that it was a 300 with some ugly body-work.
Could they do a new version of the Plymouth Roadrunner, complete with nose-cone and wing?!?!?!?!? That would be rad, but they'd probably screw it up.

That isn't competition, that's prey.
That isn't competition, that's prey.
still, better get your intakes and X-cal....
and, with those specs... I just don't see this thing getting to 60 in 6.7 seconds...

I've seen some messed up numbers, but there is no way that those numbers jibe. There was a typo, or an outright lie somewhere in there, unless those wacky German engineers have figured out a way to break the laws of physics. Plus, the performance numbers are "estimated", which looks in this instance to mean "total bull**** we pulled out of our butts".
And even if the car was faster than the stock V6, I wouldn't care enough to race the thing. It's already beaten before the key is in the ignition.
