Default Bought an 05 V6, now some questions....

This is my first time posting on here. I just bought my 05 V6 on Friday and I am loving it. Everything is standard on it accept leather interior. It really is a beautiful car. It's silver with black rally stripes. Black leather interior. It has already been getting me compliments not only from people I know but even people who just see it on the streets. However, I can't stop wishing it was a GT. Don't get me wrong, I love this car and even with the 6 it is still the fastest thing I have ever owned. But, I can't get it out of my head that there is still something much better out there...

So, now the questions begin... What are some good ways to gradualy upgrade this car(tight budget is why I say gradualy). More specifically, how can I make this faster in general? And can it even be made all that much faster? And visualy, the only thing that I feel this car needs on the exterior are those fog lamps the GT's come with. Can they be installed on the V6 and where can I get them? On the inside, I have the base model stereo. Is it possible to install the 500 or 1000 shaker system? It looks like that can be done. But, can I buy the shaaker system on its own?

Also, any upgrades that you think are a "must" for the V6 by all means let me know.

Lots of questions I know, but any info anyone has would be much appriciated.

theres always something better, dont worry about it.
best bang for the buck, both in drivability and performance is a tuner.

yes they can be made faster (see my signature)
You can get gt foglamp conversion kits all over ebay, and soon to ahve center fog light kits specifically for the v6.
yes you cacn buy the shaker500 or 1000 decks, but for the 1000 you'll need the amps, door panels, door subs, wiring, etc.

As far as must mods? tuner, intake, exhaust, will be a whole new car.

I put the GT grille in mine, but that was the only way to get the fogs in the grille back then. Now Street Scenes makes a foglight grille that is a lot easier to install. You can get it with the lights in the GT location or in the center (ala Eleanor).

Must do mods i think are exhaust, tuner and intake...those should net about 30whp, beyond that their are more mods out their to add even more power, like long tube headers, pulleys and more. And if you want to go sc or turbo, those are available as well. You may also want to look at gears and a T-loc limited slip differential.

If you want the GT fogs, street scene makes a grille with them that fits the v6, and is coming out with a v6 "Elenor" style center light grille soon in black, they have one now in chrome.

Most of all, be proud to own a v6, it's by far the best v6 a Mustang has had and not far off the new edge GT's. Here's some links to help you get started-

The infamous Screamings' website, very very informative-

just an idea of some prices of mods-

Rygen also has a great web site all about his journey through modding his sixxer. I don't have a link offhand, but look around and find one of his posts and the link is in his sig.

IMO it depends on what u are looking to gain...sounds like you want a new stero right off the bat..if you want cosmetics, change the grille and/or bumpers, window tint, side louvers, hood scoop, etc...performance-go with tuner & CAI, dual exhaust, etc...the options are endless...bottomline look at what you want to gain and what your wallet lets you get! Congrats on the new stang and enjoy it !

First, congrats on buying the Stang, and welcome to this site. Check out the sticky at the top of the V6 forum. There's a lot of great information about the new Mustangs, and it talks about performance upgrades too. It's a slippery slope - once you start modding it can be difficult to stop.
