"I plan on taking the prius to the track soon to see what it'll do in the 1/4. I've been reading up on how to launch it. This is what I've came up with as the best way to drag race a prius based on only what i've read:
- Charge the battery to full by holding the gas and brake all the way down till the engine shuts off.
- Launch the car in "B" mode because it will pre-load the engine to "launch"
- Of course try to have as little fuel as possible
I think I should be able to hit somewhere in the mid 17 second range. (hopefully) which is actually not bad."

I always wondered if the engine actually powers the drive wheels or just powers the electric generator, like a diesel locomotive? If so, adding hp will not do anything except give a full charge quicker...
It just goes to show the human psyche. I'm amazed that in a Prius forum they're even talking about racing! They have brackets for any time range at the track so why not race it?

haha, oh those poor bastards who try to be like the people in Fast and the Furious....i wanna follow one home, after i tear him a new one, so i can see him jump out of the car and run into his house crying telling his mom that he got his *** handed to him
