The side trim was on the car when I bought it. I actually didn't really notice that some Mustangs didn't have that trim until I looked at some pics on the forum. I think it would look better without it, however I'd rather have it than a door ding.

I heard that the Mustangs with the side guard were all former rental cars or built to be rental cars. I don't know if that is true.

American Icon got me too but I almost spit up more than a drink!

Not totally sure but i think its part of the 06 package, pony package or not...

Not part of the Pony package. I have an 06 Pony vert and it isn't on mine (I had to go out to the garage to double check and make sure). I picked it up in late April so it is pretty recent.
