What to use to clean the engine bay?

Default What to use to clean the engine bay?

I just wanted to know what can I use to clean in the engine bay, should I just use water and a paper towel? Im afraid to mess up something?

well on older cars water is fine if teh engine isnt hot, but with new cars i believe theres far too many electronics to just soak em in water, try google and look for an engine cleaner i think theres one taht goes on like a "wax" just spray on wipe off.

No I wouldnt have the guts to do that even if it was a piece of crap car, LOL! Oh ok so i guess ill just do that from now on.

i used to power wash the engine bays of all different cars, when i rains and u go thru a puddle ur engine gets soaked anyways... i would first spray sum degreaser on then power wash (for a used car salesmen) ask a local garage im sure they will say powerwash/steamclean/hose off is totaly fine.

i power wash mine every time i wash and wax my stang and it has had no problem with it. and if it dose i would rather it do it when im washing than on a rainy day.

i use this armorall protectant gell it gives it a really nice shine. i hope im not screwing it up[:@]

I use the wipes or a eagle spray as you dry wax (liquid) it doesn't make it to shiny but a clean cool look.

I agree, I could never point a hose under my hood lol
I just Armor All all the plastics (including intake manifold) and wipe down the struts.

Not sure if you've read this thread. Might add some opinions.
