Birthday track runs!

Birthday track runs!
I turned the big 33 on Friday. Other than getting a new black ipod and hanging out with all my chums, we went out for some fun!
I've been itching to try out Doug's 92 octane race tune at the track, so after dinner, we headed out to Portland International Raceway.
My first run, I was up against a GTI. It was pretty close, but I held him off. He was coming on strong at the end though.
14.738 @ 93.20 to my 14.710 @ 91.72
My second run was the best of the night. It was also a good 15-20 degrees warmer than my previous best run of 14.794 with Doug's 92 octane performance tune.
Here are the vitals...
WRX vs ME
R/T .405 --- .608
60' 2.811 -- 2.204
1/8 11.047 - 9.413
MPH 68.98 -- 74.88
1/4 16.626 -- 14.705
MPH 87.73 -- 92.02
Here's the viddy.... you'll need Quicktime or another .mp4 video player to view it.

The next two runs, the staging lines were shorter and I didn't have nearly as much cool down time. I had a 14.729 @ 91.89 MPH and a 14.753 @ 91.93 MPH. I was up against an STI and an older SS (sounded so mean!)... both blew me away and were deep in low 13's. Doing worse, I called it a night and went to get me a birthday milkshake.
The announcer was making cracks about me being an old man all night. My friends cheered me on and even made a sign! I feel like the car was running very strong... the firmed up shifts of the track tune felt great... always chirped second. Launches are solid, but, I feel like she runs out of steam towards the end of the run... I need a bit more hp up top. Still, with the performance tune, I was a consistent 14.9, with occassional brilliant runs into 14.8 and high 14.7 territory. The race tune has made me a consistent 14.7 ride. I didn't get my 14.6, but still had a dandy of a time!

Happy Birthday! You had some great runs! I love watching WRX's getting smacked down. My friend has a WRX and he keeps bugging me to drag, but I have not given him the satisfaction. I may ask him to go to the track once I get my replacement XCAL2.

Teach... thanks for the jig! haha!
Beaustang... I can't even imagine the 1/8 mile track. The 1/4 seems so short enough and goes by so quickly!
And, again.. thanks to all of you!
