I love the color...but hate the cloth! Everything stains it, even WATER!!!!!! Now I have this large 6inch stain on the hump in the rear. What can I do to keep the seats clean in this convertible? There is no Simonize around here. I've tried the Scotchguard spray...not too effective. Anyone got a product that will remove the stain and protect the seats...permanently?

WTF is up with that .. i have the light charcoal interior... and i have friggin water stains on my seats from rain and wet umbrella that got thrown in the back seat! URGH!

Thats why i bought leather as well. I knew ford had a problem with the cloth interiors, my 2004 ranger had the same problem something as simple as water would stain the seats. However i did use one of those foaming shampoo type cleaners once and just soaked and scrubbed the whole seat and let it air dry, and it came out pretty nice, i dunno if it was clean or one uniform stain the size of the seat lol

Katzskinz is another option, they aren't cheap but there are lots of colors available. here's a thread by someone who installed them in his car:

When you installed the leather seats in place of the cloth ones...how does that work? Professional install? Recover the seats basically? Basically all I do right now is use some seat covers to keep the cloth clean...I've just got some sport style covers that fit the seats pretty well. Add a little bit of color to the interior also as they're detailed in a blue that's very similar to the '05 sonic blue color.

Glad I'm not the only one angry over this. I got the cloth because the wife doesn't like leather and besides the only thing "leather" on the OEM seats are the two front inserts. Everything else is vinyl. There has got to be some product that will REALLY work and make these cloth seats impervious to liquid.
People keep saying this but it is not true on my car. The whole seat is not leather, but it is not just the inserts. It is the entire fwd\upward facing portions of the front seats are leather. The sides and back are vinyl.

Get two white terry towels and spray oxyclean on one and water on the other. Wipe the area with each and the stain should go away. I was wondering if like a water repellent spray like for canvas shoes would work to repel stains but I will never buy a car with a light colored cloth interior again!
