Default Blown Left Front Speaker

Grr.. The left front speaker is blown. P.O.S OEM stereo speakers are paper! Any here replace the speakers in the doors yet and if so how hard is it to get the panels off the doors?

Is this with the shaker system or an aftermarket system this happened with?

haven't replaced the speakers, but i have taken the door apart some... is it the Shaker w/ the subs or is it the speaker mounted higher on the door panel. If it's the sub, easy to get to. If it's the other speaker, the door panel's coming off... not the easiest door panel to take off either.

get your working xcal yet?

It is the shaker with the sub, the sub is ok the other speaker is blown.
My XCAL should be shipping either today or tomorrow, I am patiently waiting for it to show up, hate having money spent and nothing to show for it!

then you're basically going to have to take your door apart. no special tools needed, just some patience not to break anything. hard to reassemble.

i hear you on that one, but you'll have it soon and then you'll be too busy burning rubber to care about your speaker... lol.

so are you going to use this as an opportunity to upgrade your sound system?

I was thinking about upgrading the 4 speakers, leave the subs, and add an amp and 12" woofer in the trunk. The speakers in the doors and deck lid are 6x8's right?

not that there isn't room for improvement, but I've always thought the Shaker 500 speakers sounded pretty good. how loud were you listening to blow ur speaker?
