Default Totaled?!

Well a couple of days ago i posted pics from my accident where the lancer smashed into me, it didnt look too bad - Until i took it to the apraiser today - $2300 in damages, thats fine since the other driver had insurance....However my frame is cracked.....he told me theres a possibility that safeco (the other drivers insurrance) may just total it instead of spending the 2300 to fix it [:@]

Any of you had experience with this situation, do you think they'll total it over that?

There's no way an insurance company is going to pay 20 grand if they can get away with 23 hundred. I crashed a ond day old Camaro and took out the entire front end with damage of about 10k and the insurance refused to total it. Good luck with whatever is decided, I hope you are back in a Stang ASAP!

$2300.00 is chump change compared to what the car is worth. They would be nuts to pay for you a new car for that small of a repair amount. But that amount sure seems awfully low...

Yeah, a bent or cracked frame is pretty serious. Where did you get hit? I assume the car drives differently with the cracked frame

Some correct me if I'm wrong... isn't the Mustang a unibody design still (i.e. NO FRAME)?

oh man 2300??? gees no they will pay that in aheart beat, my truck when i had the accident was worth 34k and the damagers were over 8 grand in total and they paid up immediatly, then the tranny went and they payed for that too, was over 10k in the end.

another f150 (1994) was smashed up, only worth 8 k but the repairs were 4 k and they repaired that too.

u will defenatly get it repaired, its not totaled unless the ammount to repair exceeds the value.

Yeah, it's a unibody. Most cars are nowerdays.
