I just saw the new Street Tuner Challenge Episode on the Speed Channel. This season they are building up a Mustang V6 to compete against a VW GTI and a Honda Fit (Yes a Honda Fit)....

It is channel 150 on my Dish Satellite....

What? A Honda Fit? According to the Honda site, the fit has 105HP and 109 ft-lbs of torque out of a 1.4 Liter engine. This is going to race a Mustang? Even with a turbo, it won't make STOCK V6 numbers.

well if the thing is half the weight of our car and half the hp, it should be around the same performance wise.

i dunno, i like the mustang, but it is a heavy car, and we cant deny it. the GTI is a good car, but it is already turboed, so i dont know how much further it can go

I know that ABD is going rebuild the turbo for the car. I am sure that they can get a hell of a lot more HP out of that engine... The 06 stock GTI is rated at about 205 hp 200 lbs of torque. The older 1.8L GTI that ABD built was rated at about 350 HP and 328 lbs of torque... (http://www.abdracing.com/project/gtir18t/index.html)..

It should definatley be an interesting season.. Hopefully they represent well for the Stang...

realistically, the gti is the best performer out of the box, but i can definately see our mustang being a far more powerful car with the kind of mods they do on tuner challenge.
