Default F/I

Alright this is probably a pretty retarded question but I was reading the post about the race with the SRT-4 and they were talking about an F/I. What is that? (like I said, probably a dumb question) I'm just wondering because I guess it's a pretty insane power adder. Thanks alot guys!

F/I is short for forced induction. i could be a supercharger or a turbo charger. (or i guess a blower sticking out of the hood) < that would be insane.

Wow I feel really stupid now... I knew I would. A blower comes in a supercharger kit such as the ones from ProCharger or the Vortech Supercharger kits and turbo kits also use blowers.

Whats the difference between a blower and a supercharger?
A blower is one of three basic types of superchargers - Roots type, Screw type, and Centrifugal. It is a Roots type and because it does not have internal compression, its design classifies it as a "blower" and because of that, it will never have the same potential as the Screw type or Centrifugal. Its big advantage is that it produces full boost at low rpms (often by 2000 rpms) which make it ideal for smaller engines and top fuel racers. If you're going street light to street light, you're almost immediately at peak boost and hard to beat. A second big advantage is that a roots blower has very few moving parts and spins at low rpms which make it one of the most cost effective, durable and reliable supercharger designs.

So Blower = Roots type? And Supercharger = Screw Type, Centrifugal. Sorry for all the questions I am just really stupid when it comes to the different types of superchargers.
Is the X-charger Roots Type? and the vortech is centrifugal? Oh im confused, LOL!
